Recently, Mace the company to build the Shard in London,The tallest building in Europe, Brought together RBG (Robert Bird Group) to design FLG were then awarded the contract and then ICB to manufacture.
RBG (Robert Bird Group) role was to design a moving platform system for the HSBC tower in London’s Canary Wharf. The moving platform will be a temporary structure and will be used for maintenance on the upper five levels of the tower.
ICB’s role was to produce fabrication drawings and to manufacture. The platform consists of top and bottom rails all individual sections and five tap units over eleven metres long. Once the platform is complete it will go to a test site located in Leighton Buzzard where mace have created an exact replica of the top five levels on the HSBC Building. After testing it will then be transported to the HSBC site and fitted for maintenance
